Scuba Diving at Komandoo – What’s It Really Like?
Scuba diving at Komandoo Maldives is simply incredible, as you may already know but if you’ve not yet visited this little piece of paradise in the Indian Ocean let us take you through a typical day…
The sound of the waves gently lapping the shore wake you from your sleep, the warm light fills your villa and it’s time to start the day. A barefoot walk along the soft, white sand to the restaurant precedes some difficult choices – which way should you have your eggs cooked today? With a satisfied appetite, you take the short walk to the dive center and then to the jetty where the boat is waiting with your dive gear already set up. Take in the breathtaking scenery as you cruise along to the dive site which will usually be a maximum of 25 minutes away.
Jump in and WOW! Perhaps it’s a morning for Kuredu Express, the famous Lhaviyani Atoll corner where sharks patrol, or maybe Kuredu Caves where you will be forgiven for thinking you have just jumped into some kind of surreal turtle airport for there will be a continuous stream of green turtles taking off and landing from the overhangs there.
After the dive it’s time to relax for an hour on the boat whilst enjoying coffee, cake and fresh fruit during the surface interval before another dive – there is always the possibility of spotting dolphins during this cruise through the atoll so don’t relax too much!
Arrive back at Komandoo for lunch and maybe take a well-deserved afternoon nap, dreaming of the underwater realm visited earlier, or maybe a trip to the spa to compensate for all the hard work of enjoying the marine life. Sunset drinks await along with one of Mother Nature’s best colour shows – the sky and its reflections in the sea are a sight to behold. Top this off with an amazing gourmet dinner and the day is almost complete. Make sure you pause on the way back to your villa, the blanket of stars is captivating and there are bound to be plenty of wish making opportunities when they shoot across the sky.
…and repeat!
The Komandoo team look forward to sharing these incredible days with you very soon.
