Greetings from the Maldives!

I am delighted to let you know that, since I last wrote to you, Komandoo Maldives has been awarded Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award for 2024 – placing our boutique resort amongst the top 10% of hospitality businesses worldwide. I extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to write about your stays with us.

May was not just about reviews and awards, it was also about turtles as we celebrated World Turtle Day. As our resort logo suggests, every day is a turtle day here at Komandoo as not only is Lhaviyani Atoll home to the largest green turtle community in the Maldives, but we also have around 30 resident hawksbill turtles on our very own house reef, making a bucket list tick of ‘swimming with turtles’ very easy to tick off if you stay with us.

This month is an important time for environmental awareness, and we joined the global community in marking World Environment Day on the 5th June and World Oceans Day on the 8th June. Our natural environment is very important to us here on Komandoo – both on land and in the ocean and we hope you enjoy exploring the beauty of the Maldives whilst staying with us – it’s one of the few places in the world where reality is even more stunning than the glossy travel brochures!
